Implant-Supported Dentures in San Antonio

Beautiful and Stable Full-Arch Replacement Teeth

6-post-dental-implantFor many years, the solution to replace a full arch of missing teeth has been acrylic dentures that sit directly on the gums. Dr. Daniela provides high-quality, well-fitting dentures, but no matter how well these dentures are made, they still have certain disadvantages.

Traditional dentures can move around or slip, make noises while you speak or eat, and provide minimal chewing power. They also rub against the gums and can cause painful sores.

Implant-supported dentures increase stability and chewing power

Dr. Daniela will go over your options for replacing missing or broken-down teeth with dental implants.

Modern technology makes it possible to minimize the disadvantages of traditional dentures by using dental implants to support the dentures. Implants hold the dentures stably in place and increase their chewing power significantly. Many studies have shown that they also help preserve the bone in your jaw.

Your dentures can be fitted so they snap onto the implants while still being removable. They can also be designed so they are fixed onto implants. Each option has its own distinct advantages, and Dr. Daniela can go over them with you after a comprehensive exam.

Quality Dentures and Implant Placement

Dr. Daniela carefully evaluates your case to determine your eligibility for implant-supported dentures. She works with a local implant dentist to place your implants while she designs and creates your new denture teeth.

Your dentures are made to be durable and have an aesthetic and lifelike appearance. Dr. Daniela will work closely with the implant dentist to ensure your new implant-supported dentures perform comfortably and that they are well-aligned.

Our Stable and Comfortable Implant-Supported Denture Options

Implant-supported fixed-in dentures

denture-stabilizationDr. Daniela can create a full-arch denture that is designed to be fixed onto the implants. This denture is often made with metal reinforcement to be able to handle strong bite pressure. In some cases, Dr. Daniela can provide porcelain teeth instead of an acrylic denture as an upgrade for aesthetic purposes. Because the denture is fixed in, the false palate required to hold the denture in place is usually not needed.

Fixed-in dentures significantly increase a patient’s chewing power. With implant-supported fixed-in dentures you will be able to easily eat most foods that you need for proper nutrition.

Implant-supported snap-in removable dentures

implantsupporteddentureslargeAn economical alternative to fixed-in new teeth is a denture that snaps onto implants and is removable. For this system, Dr. Daniela will put snaps on the underside of your denture so it will be able to snap onto the implants and be firmly held in place.

Snap-in dentures reduce or eliminate many of the issues caused by loose dentures, including slippage, poor chewing ability and gum irritation. You will be able to eat confidently a lot of the food you want and need without fear that your denture will come loose.
