Comfortable and Gentle Extractions

esamDr. Daniela is skilled and experienced at saving teeth. But sometimes a tooth is too decayed or damaged to be salvaged. In this case, an extraction is necessary to prevent infections and painful swelling.

Gentle extractions

Dr. Daniela performs her tooth extractions gently and carefully so that the tissue and bone around the extracted tooth are minimally impacted. This eliminates most discomfort that might be felt after the procedure and speeds healing. It can also help you resume normal activities quickly.

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Wisdom teeth (also known as “third molars”) are the molars in the back of your mouth that usually come in during your late teens or early twenties. If wisdom teeth do not have enough room to come in, or come in incorrectly, they can cause pain, crowding of your other teeth or problems in your jaw.

If a wisdom tooth has emerged incorrectly, it is usually best to extract it. Dr. Daniela can take care of the removal of wisdom teeth in the comfort of our office, providing sedation options.

Bone Grafting to Preserve the Bone

After a tooth is lost, bone loss occurs in the area where the tooth is missing. This creates a sunken area on your dental arch which creates difficulties when replacing the tooth with a bridge or dental implant in the future. This sunken part of your arch usually has inadequate bone available to support a dental implant, and can act as a food trap under a bridge and be a breeding ground for bacteria and infection.

Immediately after an extraction, Dr. Daniela can fill the extraction socket with bone graft material. The bone graft is designed to fill the void and preserve the height and thickness of the space until natural bone grows to replace it. Placing a bone graft prepares the site for an immediate or future bridge or dental implant.
